Lohana Ladies Circle Donation

On 4th April 2014, The Flying Doctors Society of Africa (FDSA) received a financial donation of USD 11,000 from the Lohana Ladies Circle. The Circle raises funds to support several organisations and charities that uplift the underprivileged class in the community.

To mark its 25th Anniversary the Lohana Ladies Circle, for the first time ever, disbursed funds to more than one beneficiary organisation. For FDSA, the much needed funding is a boost for the recently launched 2014 Fistula Surgical Operations country wide campaign aimed at carrying out at least 200 surgical repairs for women suffering from the dehumanising condition.

Present at the event were representatives of the Lohana Ladies Circle, led by Chairlady, Mrs. Kamal Kantaria, representatives of the Flying Doctors Society of Africa lead by Trustee, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi, Chairman, Dr. Eunice Kiereini and Council members, Dr. Harish Rupani - Convenor of Jalaram Medical Services, Dr. Samson Ndegwa - Chairman - Lions Sightfirst Eye Hospital, Dr. Rasikbhai Kantaria - Jalaram Rondwe Girls School, Mombasa. Also, present was Dr. Manu P. Chandaria, Chairman of the Comcraft Group.

The Lohana Ladies Circle is a non-profitable and charitable organization that has been in existence for the last 25 years. The aim of the club is to uplift the underprivileged class of the community. Over the years, the club has donated to various causes, including homes, hospitals, orphanages, and schools.
